Firearms Range Rules

We have an excellent firearms range available to members.

Please read our Rules Below:

  • Never point any Firearm at anything you are not willing to kill or destroy
  • Always treat all Firearms as if they are loaded
  • Keey your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
  • Know your target and what is behind it.
  • All Shooters must sign in upon arrival to the Range. Guests must fill out the one-day membership, pay $10 and deposit both into the receptacle.
  • No Firearms are to be handled when a person is going/located down range. Firearms must be unloaded, action open on a table, or in a rack. All Firearms must remain unloaded until ready to fire and no staging of loaded Firearms. The only exception is loaded handguns may be holstered and carried throughout.
  • The Red Light must be turned on upon arrival at the range and turned off upon departure. It is the shooters responsibility to ensure the range is clear of people, animals or unsafe conditions before firing.
  • All targets will be paper or cardboard. Not other targets (i.e. steel, cans, trash, etc.) will be permitted.
  • All targets will be stapled to club supplied stands and placed onto one of the fixed bases. Targets are not permitted to extend past the top of the stand.
  • All rounds must strike the berm. If any round leaves the range, so do you!
  • All loaded Firearm muzzles are not to be pointed outside of the range. They should only be pointed at a backstop or the ground (no high ready starts/carries)
  • Fully automatic Firearms and devices to mimic such (bumpstocks, binary triggers, etc.) are prohibited
  • Carry in/Carry Out. Brass is to be picked up after firing and deposited into the appropriate bucket. Shotgun shells are trash!
  • Shooters must be fully inside of bays when firing and forward of the orange firing line.
  • Cease fire may be called at any time by any person.
  • Eye and Ear protection is required at all times when the range is active.

DO NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR MEMBERSHIP OR EMBARASS YOURSELF (OR THE CLUB) BY VIOLATING ANY OF THE RULES OF THE RANGE. VIOLATIONS, UNSAFE BEHAVIOR AND OTHER INFRACTIONS WILL BE GROUND FOR LOSS OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND USE OF THE FACILITY. THE BCSA RANGE COMMITTEE IS THE JUDGE AND JURY ON ALL INFRACTIONS.
